Feb 07, Glacier Alley and Ushuaia

Today was a very early start up on deck at 6am for cruising through Glacier Alley which was amazing so pretty with 6 beautiful glaciers each different from the previous.  One of the glaciers has a big rock centre from where the glacier has receded, another has a wonderful waterfall which was flowing very fast, the experts advised that quite often they have been at this glacier and the waterfall has been non-existent they said it was the best it has been this season.  The sea was a little choppy but not too bad and was quite cold. Then we sailed through the Beagle Chanel, as well, we have sailed through the Strait of Magellan discovered in 1520 and Cockburn Channel. We have Cape Horn and Drake Passage still to come. We docked at lunch time in Ushuaia, and are now in Argentina, went for a walk along the wharf up to the town, there were a few other ships docked here as well as us. We went on the Train at the End of the World which is a small steam train that was originally used to transport convicts, it was very picturesque and was a lovely way to see the Andes, forests and rivers. We had a coach ride back to the port and stopped at Ensenada Bay this forms the divide between Chile and Argentina which again was very pretty it has a mail box which is at the most southern point on Earth. We boarded the ship about 7.30pm and it was time to sail out after another great day.
