Today we were going to disembark at Puerto Montt but the
ocean had other ideas it was very choppy and the waves were constantly coming
over the platform to embark the tenders.
The captain unfortunately had to make the decision that we would not
disembark at this port as it was dangerous and headed out to sea, he was
concerned if he could get the passengers off safely and the weather
deteriorated he may not be able to get everyone back on board. We went to a talk about sea lions and seals
which was interesting every day they have experts giving talks on what we can
expect to see when we get to Antarctica and these experts will be on deck
whilst cruising to point out the wildlife. The scenery while sailing down the
coast was lovely and we could see a couple of beautiful snow-capped volcanoes
which was interesting. Mid afternoon we
arrived at Castro Isla Grande de Chiloe so went off for a little while then
came back on board in time for happy hour and then dinner in the Canaletto
restaurant which was beautiful. We are here overnight so will be able to have a
better look tomorrow.
